Karlie has worked alongside people with disabilities and their families for over ten years. Her career started within the disability advocacy space, providing intake and referral support to people in need of individual and legal advocacy, and representation in administrative tribunals.

With a goal to working directly with individuals, Karlie then provided support to clients of all ages experiencing various disadvantages including disability, psychosocial diagnoses, homelessness, addiction and family breakdown to name a few.

The introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) led Karlie to work with individuals and their loved ones to apply for funding to access vital disability supports and once the scheme was implemented, Karlie moved into the role of Support Coordination.

Shaped by experiences within multiple organisations, Karlie believes that support coordination should be an independent service, free from conflicts of interest. Karlie is passionate about working with individuals to understand their NDIS plans, connect with funded and mainstream supports, build their capacity to manage their support (where possible), and above all, pursuing their goals.
